El Quseir (“the short” in Arabic) is a small port town with a big historical background. El Quseir has been inhabited for 5000 years and is one of the anciest cities in Egypt. The city is 73 km noth of Marsa Alam Airport and is located directly on the sea.
Due to this location, it was once an important hub for trade and also a gathering point for pilgrims on their journey to Mecca.
